Aviatik B.1- scratch 1:72
« on: April 04, 2026, 05:08:50 PM »
Hello felowship of struts and canvas
This is my first gallery on this forum. I'd like to show you one of my latest scratch models. The model was based on modeling plans from Albatros Publishing. The plane I built flew in 1914-1915 in what is now southern Poland. The model is made of polystyrene panels. The wheels are 3D printed. The struts are crushed Albion Alloy tubes. If you have any questions, I'll try to answer

Hello and welcome!

Excellent model I especially like the struts and the radiators, the panelwork is also of very high quality. Fantastic, would love to see more of your work.

Cheers, Skyhook

Briliant work Kamil!

Did you scratchbuild the engine as well?

I would love to see the build log of this model

Great to see your lovely Aviatik also here, my Friend! You know already my opinion - it is amazing, it would be so even if it were not scratchbuilt!

That's a lovely choice of subject and a great bit of scratch building with everything looking crisp and very neatly painted too. Can't wait to see other pieces of your work

Brilliant. Thanks for the photos. It looks like you use the curved scalpel blade to scrape dips in between the ribs - if so how do you keep them so neat and parallel? Is it just done by eye or are you using a guide of some kind?

Thanks
Paul
