A Dogfight Double kit has landed/ Plus a Triplane
« on: February 18, 2026, 07:10:40 AM »
I picked up an Airfix Dogfight Double boxing of the Be2c and Fokker EII. Both look to be very nice. My new scale of course  ::) Won them on a FB Auction site. I think My winning Bid was @ $9.00 US.

PS:

All kits the right period, that's good to see! The Fokker and BE2c are both lovely kits. Your challenge is to build them using just the paints and brushes in the box!!!

     Right scale !

The brushes in the Airfix starter packs and dogfight doubles are usually quite good, except the ferrules snaps off too easily. The paints, errrrr, hardly worth the name (although I do like some of the larger pots of Humbrol acrylics, which actually seem to be intended for use as paint).

Well that's a real bargain RAGIII  8)

Looking forward to all three of these.
Just started a conversion of the Be2 kit which I'll post at some point. Never built the Airfix Eindekker, but plenty of experience of the Eduard Tripe which is a really nice kit. Looking at all them though I can't help feeling the undercarriage legs are a tad long (I shortened them very slightly on my recent DVI and think it 'sits' better for it)

Bring on the builds

Wrong scale, Rick  ;)
Just kidding.
Even the (very) old molds of these Airfix models were way ahead of their time.
It's been years, many years ....... really many years since I built them.
Good deal for the price!

These are not old molds Bertl  :)
The Fokker E.II/RAF B.E.2c were first released in 2016 and they look way better than the old Airfix kits, really up to date.

Good to see that you are returning from the Dark Side of our hobby Rick - and in the correct scale too!

I don't think I can even see 1/72 scale, let alone build in that scale - Can't wait to see what you do with these!
