Clarity over rules for selling
« on: January 27, 2026, 12:32:42 AM »
Hi, I'm aiming to sell most of my WNW stash, and some Roden kits as well, all 1/32.

I messed up my last listing, because of shipping costs.

I'm putting UK shipping costs against each item, do I need to put any overseas shipping costs at this stage, or only once a shipping cost is requested from a potential buyer?

Hi DK,
The rule as written by Des in this post is as follows:
As this is an international forum any item listed for sale must be made available to everyone and a price must be stated. It is up to the buyer to decide if they wish to pay international postage costs and the seller must oblige.
My interpretation is that a price for the item must be posted in the sale thread, not the price for postage. Perhaps it's time the admin team took a look at clarifying and, if needed, amending this. Given the fluctuations seen in postage prices globally, and particularly to the USA, it doesn't seem practical to me to need to state a postage price when listing an item for sale on this forum. That seems like something the seller and buyer could discuss via private message.

Thanks Zac, your interpretation is spot on.

In the interests of clarity, the selling rules are:

- Items must be offered internationally.

- In the interests of fairness, the item price must be listed for all to see.

- Postage costs do not need to be listed, as they will undoubtedly vary by country.

- It is up to the buyer to determine if they are comfortable to pay the postage price, once discussed with the seller privately.

Hopefully that helps :)  I'll go back and look at the selling rules to make sure these are clearly spelt out.

Thanks guys, that has cleared it up for me.

I'll list kits with a price for each kit. I'll add the postage cost for Special Delivery in the UK, but I'll say in the listings that if you're overseas, I'm happy to ship it to you if you're happy to pay the high shipping rates.

I'll start a new thread shortly. I'm not sure about this thread, whether you want to delete it, or keep it, as it may be handy for new sellers like me?
