1/32 Wingnut Wings Halberstadt Cl.II (Early)

I've just completed Wingnut Wings kit no. 32049 of the early Halberstadt Cl.II "Dora" Royal Bavarian Schusta 27b.  A link to my build is here, at the end of which I typed out a summary of my mishaps and notables: https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=15040.0

As in the past I've posed a couple of familiar figures with it in a couple of pictures for perspective.

Thanks Pete - the base I use to photograph the finished piece on is the same for each project...with a few holes here & there to stand the figures into. It's a 15inch by 11inch old trophy plaque onto which I spread a thin layer of earth-coloured Celluclay papier-mache mix (with a lot of PVA glue added). Into that wet surface I sprinkle some various colours of static grass, and tap it into the wet base with a coarse brush. It gets a bit messy, but after everything dries off I turn the base on it's side and tap off the excess static grass onto a piece of newspaper. Presto - done. I bought a few different colours of the grass from Green Stuff World in Spain (great service). Cheers!

Another stunner from Gary! The figures set the model off really well, but the moedel stands alone as a mini-masterpiece.

Mishaps? Where are they? This is a simply superb piece of modelling.

This is a super build Gary, she turned out really well. It's an attractive plane and scheme and the end result looks fantastic. I hope you are pleased with this one.

Thanks to all for the kind words on my model - very much appreciated. I often look back on a build and feel a bit deflated that the end result was less than I was happy with. But I'm very pleased that this particular model has a particular appeal to me, be it the scheme, details, overall shape or a combination of both. Glad I picked it out of the stash and got on with it.
