Revell Germany B-17F built OOB. MRP and Tamiya Paints. Thanks to Warren for suggesting the Dryer sheet method to vary the paint layers. I am loving the Technique! Other weathering was done with Oils and pastels.

Rick - that is really nice. I remember as a youngster watching the series Twelve O-clock High and always admired the look of a B-17. You've done an outstanding job on this one. Cheers!

Thanks Gary! I watched that show as a young kid also! I built the original 1/72nd Memphis Belle kit from Revell about the same time. I think it probably lacked a bit of finesse  ::)

Nice "Heavy" Rick.
What is the "Dryer Sheet" technique?
Thanks,
Allan Buttrick

Nice "Heavy" Rick.
What is the "Dryer Sheet" technique?

Thanks! The Dryer Sheet technique is basically a "Poor" mans way of using a mask for layering of colors. Not as difficult in large scales but in 1/72nd it is challenging. There are commercial products available but WD pointed out that used Dryer sheets work great! Also one can use a Scotch Brite Pad cut/pulled apart but this is easier. One basically airbrushes a lighter or complimentary color, or darker , and it creates a nice random pattern! I think Warren showed His results in His Nieuport thread!
