Hi!

Now it is ready, just before the deadline

It is in 1/72, basically a totally scratch built model, excluding the red centres for the roundels, which are surplus Hinomarus from a Tamiya Zero. You can follow the build in a thread in the Under Construction section.

These photos are taken in a hurry (going for a holiday tomorrow) and I think I will add better ones after a week or so. But here it is!

Cheers, Skyhook

This is simply stunning. Well done for completing this after so many years, it's a really interesting and little-known subject. Beautiful modelling all round, it's been a pleasure to follow this and the end result was well worth waiting for!

I think this would have been daunting to start and even harder to keep going. I commend you for seeing it thru to the finish. But what a result!

I have sometimes thought about tackling one of these, but then had better ideas....!

That is a superb example of master-craftsmanship in scratch building - just eye-wateringly beautiful and in God's Own Scale. I cannot fins sufficient superlatives to describe my feelings for this - so just incredible will have to do.

Stephen.

Hi SkyHook,
An inspirational build.
It highlights the skills required to scratch build such an unusual and complicated aircraft.
A real beauty,

Mike

Thank you all for the overwhelmigly positive comments and vibes :)

Caproni was a lot of work, but I too am quite happy with the end result. It is interesting to see (once again) that a plane, which looks very strange and unpractical in a three-view, is actually looking much more sensible as a 3d model. Ca.4 is a fascintaing combination of contempt regarding frontal drag and certain aerodynamic finesse!

Cheers, Skyhook

Ps. My Holiday in London was a nice one and a visit to Hendon was great, once again. This time I got to sit in a Spitfire Mk. XVI for 20 mins and had a very nice chat about it with the guide (the Spitfire Experience). Highly recommended!
