Avia BH.11, HB-ORI (1/72, KP)
« on: June 07, 2025, 10:21:53 PM »
This kit fell into my hands a week ago as a prize at a small modeling contest in Dolni Lutyne, CZ. I have always liked the characteristic layout of this plane, so I decided to built it as an almost oob project during the tech breaks in my Alb D.V build.

Small progress. The fuselage closed, seams filled, wings attached with a help of a cardboard jig.

Thanks, Nigel. We will see what eventually comes out. In the meantime, the struts fitted.

I was given as a gift a Smear kit of this aircraft but have never built it. I will therefore be interested in seeing this plane getting blessed by the PrzemoL touch.

Thank you for the kind words.
I have made some progress, the horizontal surfaces got the aluminium linen colour, the wing codes on.
But the break is coming, I am heading for holidays.

Cool little project Prze and lovely clean work (as we'd expect)

Chatting to a chap at the weekend who is a big fan of these which have loads of lovely schemes and are a nice looking aeroplane (he's built 5 or 6 so far)

Only just seen thsi Prez. A new type to me but very interesting.

The quality of your work never ceases to amaze me - the more so as it is in God's Own Scale.

Thank you!

And here is finally some progress to report. The bulk assembled, airbrushed, decalled,  shaded and varnished. Final bits are prepared - the engine and prop, undercarriage, etc.

Finished.
For the record, I replaced the kit engine with resin by Czech Radial Engines and Wheels, the wheels are 3D prints by 77Propeller, scratched the non-standard headrest and the thick windscreens were replaced with scratched ones from acetate foil.

The model presents the aircraft used in private in Switzerland since 1929 until 1952 when it crashed killing the crew.
