Hollywood Air Force, more fun......
« on: May 24, 2025, 08:23:34 AM »
In the interest of keeping it fun, I've built several aircraft as they have appeared in some of our favorite flying movies.
Some are the star others just may appear for a few seconds on the silver screen.

Hawk 1/48

In the film, the bad guys fly from right to left, they had no footage facing that way so they flopped the image, hence the backwards swazticky on the tail.

"Where Eagles Dare" Monogram 1/48

"Battle of Britain"
Somebodies 1/48

Academy Ha-1112

Skippers Spitfire, 1/48

"633 Squadron" Airfix 1/48

And some I'd like to do.

Thought you all might enjoy....

Thanks,
Allan Buttrick

Love it Allan!

I have had a mind to do this one from Iron Eagle III (top notch cinema right there, hahah!)

Or perhaps some of the Bf-109 Buchons from "Memphis Belle"...

Here's some "Von Richthofen and Brown" inspiration -

I also have a small conversion set somewhere to do the "Last Crusade" biplane as well.

And the one movie aircraft I have done... :)

Cheers and keep them coming!

Guys you're killing me I have plenty enough projects on the go already without adding to the list  ;D

Seriously some great modelling going on there chaps.
(Personally I love the 633 squadron mozzie especially Allan although some of the others are perhaps more involved)

Plenty of others to have a go at and I'm now revisiting the Blue Max Tripe idea I was kicking about since I have some lozenge sheets so just need a suitable Siemens-Halske engine in 1/72; possibly from a Bucker Jungman? Willi's aircraft would be the one complete with raised guns and smoke canisters  ::)

These are all great fun and some lovely builds. I particularly like the Blue Max Pfalz done in flight with the Stachel leaning out of the cockpit.

What a great idea - and the models are beautiful examples of what was seen in the films. Well done indeed. Cheers!
