Another outing on this significant date for an old model of mine.

Made way back in the eighties from the Merit/Smer kit, I entered this for the Scottish Nats and was disqualified because the judges thought the prop was made of wood! (Back in the day, it all had to be plastic.) I was furious as it was carefully shredded plastic.

Anyway Airfix were the main sponsors and they gave me their big Harrier kit as they thought my Dr.I was rather good.

Long gone, but still got the pics.
Sandy

Nice one Sandy

They had some odd rules back in the day (I remember making a couple of figures for the Model Engineer Exhibition that I couldn't enter because I'd done some work as a prop/model maker and thus was deemed a 'professional' model maker)

Paul

ps - great prop so I can understand why they thought it was wood  ;)
There cannot be a crisis today, my schedule is full

That's funny that you got penalised for making a prop too realistic.
Alan.
I heard that it all started when a bloke called Archie Duke shot an ostrich 'cause he was hungry!
