Nieuport XI Early, Copper State Models, 1:32
« on: April 19, 2025, 08:51:49 AM »
Hello everybody,

first of all, I apologize for missing the "rules", so I do not have a box and goodies picture.

The kits is a well known Nieuport XI Early from CSM and additionally I have:

CSM Nieuport 11/16 Engine Air Intake Tubes
CSM Nieuport 11 wheels with laced cutout rims
CSM Nieuport 11/16 seat cushion
CSM Nieuport 11/16 pilot seat backrest
CSM Nieuport 11/16 interior
CSM LeRhone 9C 80h.p. engine
CSM Nieuport masks set
Gaspatch Lewis machine gun
Gaspatch resin turnbuckles

I started lighly, some base color, hop on to wood, that will come tomorrow

The kit is excellent, 3D prints very good, all satisfactory and I am really glad we have a company that invests this much into details, comfort, and pick of types they produce, only two remarks, one, I would appreciate a little better interior, or airplane parts color callouts and then, the 3D printed interior, well, no guide anywhere. Nor online, nor in the box, basically I have no idea which part is used when and where, not marked or anything, versions, options....etc...

Which parts need an instruction? As for colours, no one knows for sure any real colour used, so that is a bit complicated honestly

The best thing to do is to look through some of the build threads on here. They show how we approached the build, all the interior colours etc. Then ask specific questions as you go.

Here's a link to my build: https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=14796.0

There are several other great builds on here, just read through them and I am sure you will find what you need to know.

I cannot see that I did anything Nigel has not done, but here is mine:

There's also a really good discussion among forum members of how these early Nieuports were finished here: https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=14792.0

yes FAf, the response is more than I ever expected

thank all of you guys, I think I will just try to do my best technique wise on this build and I will definitelly build more BeBes, lovely kit

@Edgar: what I meant, is that maybe on the drawings it would be depicted at least color number from the front page, not like specific color, but hey, everybody nailed it, maybe I am just lazy.

Anyways, the set I mentioned is the A32-016, I am quite unsure what and where to use

As for build update, I tried some wood using burnt umber, not satisfactory, but it is a start. There won?t be as much visible anyway

Well that wood colour looks pretty good from here. But you are right, you can't see a lot anyway once it's all closed up.
