Luigi Olivi (six aerial victories) was born on November 18th, 1894 in Ancona.
He volunteered the air service in 1913.
In 1916 Luigi had his first rendezvous with Nieuport 11 and later in August he was drafted to 76 Squadrilla.
Severe and exhausting service provided the CO and transfer to Ni17, on which quickly won his fifth aerial victory in the company with Picco
On June 17th 1917 Luigi gained another strike. He followed his last victim until impact with the ground and then turned back on home airport to pick up the camera for validating the kill. Without any hesitation he jumped into SPAD VII, started up the engine and took off. After a while Luigi Olivi crashed and died immediately
The probable cause of death was lack of training for SPAD…...
Ni11 on No. 1651 served as a training aircraft even in 1918.
Speaking of my replica, I know, I know, there are no back side numbers, which I am afraid to do myself, maybe one day it will get the decals, .who knows?
Generally sth is wrong here, some detail, but was too late to amend
