CSM Nieuport 11 Early
« on: February 07, 2025, 03:05:37 AM »
This lovely kit is finished. There's a few glitches in the build (which I've cleverly disguised with the photos) but I did rush this somewhat. Any issues are entirely mine, the kit engineering is superb.

The finish is based as much as possible on photos, which show the doped finish was not translucent, so no "showthrough" of any interior detail. But having that cream finish over all the aircraft made painting challenging, because any scuffs or dust were really visible. And those rib tapes.... :o

Nice work!  I particularly like your subtle weathering!

Thanks very much for the feedback everyone, this one did turn out better than I expected. I had some challenges with the paint job along the way (especially those rib tapes).

Lovely work! Very inspiring. You made Me put this on the top of My pile  8)
Rick, you definitely should build this one. It's a dream of a kit.

I particularly like your subtle weathering!
Thanks Kreston. I think we have a similar mi9ndset regarding weathering.... :)

Look forward to running the eye glass over this one at the weekend  ;)

Borsos, this is a great kit to use some modelling time on, especially if you don't have much time available.

Nigel -

Your CSM N11 is wonderful and I like the weathered fabric look too.

I'm about to start my take on this kit and your one has been great inspiration.
