"As an example, a project we have recently begun investigating is the much requested Sopwith Camel. I expect this
iconic machine will take at least a couple of years before it is ready to release." he says.
No further details of the Camel project are offered yet.

Is this WNW dropping another bombshell on the modeling community? I am grateful to our resident "Prophet" Lance Caroll for his timley and erudite prophecy regarding the Camel.

(Thank you Lance for buying those kits, ensuring WNW would in turn release said Camel kit) It was only a matter of time before WNW would delve into this a/c and release it in kit form. Look at the caterwalling that has been going on over the past years regarding this kit. I have heard of and even seen virtual examples of the fabled Academy kit, but; have never held one in my hot little hands. I have two of the old releases and will build one OOB just for the fun of it. Now that WNW has unfettered the feline, so to speak, I needn't attempt to repeat Des detailed work on the kit. As Dave W succinctly put it, it is a wise business choice by WNW to develop and release this kit due it's recognizeability, marketability and popularity. The Mauston Camel markings would certainly enhance the sale of the kit if included or if Pheon were to release the markings in concert with the kit it would certainly boost Rowans sales. I know many non WWI a/c modelers who would probably go out and buy one, maybe even build one.
I find it interesting that R.A. made several referencs to "Special Edition" kits. Soon folks.
BTW, I enjoyed the article and am glad that R.A. consented to the interview to let us modelers in on what WNW is up to. The photo's of the staff was a nice way to a put face to a name.
Anyway, those are my controversial thoughts on the topic, on this 22 February snowy day here in the great upper midwest of the USA.
Cheers
Mark
