Hello!
After a long pause in my ww1 builds, I finally have started a new project. Actually, I have scratchbuilt the main components in the autumn, but was again sidetracked by a few ww2 kit subjects, mainly the Dambusters Lancaster for a group build in a Finnish modelling forum. But enough is enough

. Now back to the main course of ww1 2-seat Albatroses. I still have the J.1 waiting for some care and attention, but my inspiration is very fickle and why not! This one is now in a phase that is very enjoyable in scratchbuilding; the first things are getting the final colour and soon the plane will be put together and starts slowly to look like the end result might be.
I chose the Linke-Hoffmann-built variant because of the mottled camouflage, to get some variation in my bunch of Albatros two-seaters. The colors are described in the contemporary report as dull green and earth, whatever that really means. I decided to use the green as the base and the lighter RAF earth color as the added one. The base color looks darker in the photos than the lighter blotches. Could be the other way round depending of the shades used, I guess?
