LVG C.VI 'O-BAHU'
« on: November 16, 2024, 10:52:22 PM »
My Finished model of LVG C.VI 'O-BAHU', A early aircraft used by SNETA; one of the forerunners of SABENA, The aircraft appeared at some point in this scheme between 1920 and 1923 and the code would later be used on another SABENA aircraft. Its a bit of a mix with post war LVGs if they flew in modified or unmodified condition with the only photos ive seen of this one showing it with its original observer compartment intact.

I used a Wingnut Wings kit finished with self done wood effect on fuselage, Aviattic Lozenge decals, Self cut paint masks with the lettering and decals being made by Bjorn Carlson of Flying Bear Models, Copper State wire wheels and Proper Plane prop. The kit has little modification other then adding in some luggage where the radio would have been and a new seat in the observers compartment.

This image shows the civil code on the underside wing

That is different - a WW1 type in post war civilian markings. A very interesting choice of markings. Very well presented.

Lovely work all round Sam. The close ups aren't displaying for some reason, it would be great to see this one in more detail.

Very nice and clean build. These spoked wheels really suit the LVG C. VI.

What a beauty! I'm a sucker for civilian conversions and this is a terrific example.

Thank you, any particular part you'd like to see a closeup of?

Thank you, i found they did need reinforcing with superglue as the first set i used eventually warped but they do work

Thank you, the amount of aircraft which entered the civilian market post WW1 was so much to the extent it almost killed the domestic civilian aircraft industry in the UK  :o

Nothing specific, I would just like to see the bigger versions of the pictures you posted. When I click on any picture I just get a Postimages page, not the bigger version of your pictures. But maybe that's just me for some reason......

That?s a really interesting scheme.  Civilian markings over the camouflage lozenge.  And really well done!
