I wonder if it is the old Wingnut Wings molds from a new manufacturer?

I read on the internet that it is a new design, nothing to do with WNW, 3d printing by gaspatchmodels.

IF not priced out of My range I will perhaps try my first resin kit!

I got back into 1/32 WWI modelling upon retirement, and about the time COVID hit. Needless to say, I missed out on the WNW golden era, and most importantly, have had no reasonable 1/32 Fokker D.VII option. If this is indeed legit, I too will attempt my 1st totally resin kit (if need be). Very hopeful news!

A interesting venture with a hint of an Albatros D111 and SPAD down the road. I think there is still an opportunity for CSM to announce these two and sell for 70? or thereabouts, as these 3D printed kits are going for the 200 mark, depending could be more.

Well, there is a certain smell around these kits?

By the way, I need to order some Aviattic decals?

I took a leap of faith and pre-ordered a D.VII, the Jungwirth OAW version, which will not be the initial version shipped. Not a problem as I have a couple of projects in the queue first, and don't work as fast or as competently as some of the freakin' brillant modellers on this forum.  I must say that Christian stays in touch with their customers  :)

The models are 3d printed and designed in collaboration with Gaspatch's owner. Ronnie Barr is responsible for the box illustration. The kits will be tailor made. So you get the EXACT type that belongs to the pilot (think exhausts, engine louvres on engine compartment radiatot etc. etc). The decals are laser cut. Everything fits like a glove (i've studied the actual pre production prints at Gothaforce's stand on the Scale Model Challenge last week) an spoke extensively with the owner. Hhe ignition wiring on the engine wil be in place. In the works are Albatros DIII and Fokker DVIII/EV. A more expensive model with e.g. wooden propellor will follow later on. The owner is also in close collabration With Sabine Broadbent, about continuing/reviving Pheon Decals. He offered 4 of the very rare 1:48 Macchi M5 sheets last weekend.

I'm confused. Is this the company set up by the guy that fell out with Aviattic? If so, do I understand there is a legal dispute about ownership of rights? If not, my apologies to all involved and please ignore next comments.

I can imagine that Richard at Aviattic is such a perfectionist, he might be difficult to deal with in business, but he does have a good track record of coming through with the goods for those who have paid up front for future kits. Gaspatch seem to trust/work with gothaforce, so maybe all is fine. This new venture, I just have no idea who or what they are. An "About us" with a detailed CV on their website would be helpful/reassuring for potential investors.

Without that though, at the moment I won't be prepaying 200 quid on the chance of a D.VII when I've still got 3 Wingnuts in the stash.

For the avoidance of doubt, no implication of wrong-doing is intended.

Hello Sandy,

Thanks for sharing your concerns. Well .. I am that guy ... Ever since mid February I have not said a single word about all this ... and I won't ... because it's a waste of energy and none of people's business ... about what really happened. This may sound strange but I wish Richard well ... because he is a good person at heart ... there is no fall-out ... only a matter of difference in vision ... and that's ok because that's life.

Now others may say what they want ... and they apparently did ... but if this fuzz has to spiral out up to the point where it is proclaimed that there is a legal dispute ongoing ...  I feel compelled to make a statement about this ... which I did on our FB page when some keyboard warrior tried to scare off people with totally unfound statements ... which he backtracked and deleted afterwards ... like keyboard warriors typically do ... because it is oooh so easy to just usher anything one wants ... behind the safety of their keyboards.

Compelled ... not for myself ... because I couldn't care less ... but this is disrespectful and just plain insulting to all those other people in our team ... yes Sabine from Pheon, Gaspatch Models, our Japanese friends from Modelkasten, Ronny Bar, etc ...  that unselfishly worked towards a common goal. Think about it for a minute ... such allegations would mean that all these people ... one by one ... would either be naive ... or just be plain stupid ... to be lured by a two bit fraudster.  Now the real question to be asked ... as I am apparently seem to be not the first in these self-proclaimed disappointments ... How does it come that this always seems to happen to the same person ? Well it's not up to me to answer that.

So reluctantly ... I will it state here again: if there is a legal action ... then the people that spread these things  ... should walk the talk and show it ... or just shut up. Everything has been paid for ... there has been no coercion ... to my knowledge a picture of a WWI hangar is not subject to any intellectual property rights ... WWI belongs to the public realm ... and as I have been told by historians ... lozenge unlike PC10/12 ... as a by-product of German technology chemical prowess ... produced consistent colouring results ... so there are no 10 ways to skin that cat.

Now about your 200 quid ... you have every right to doubt ... we have opened preorder last week ... you will find answers on a lot of questions that we thought were relevant ... we try to be transparent ... and if we didn't answer the right question ... there is a form where you can ask ... and we will be happy to answer. And then everybody decides for themselves. We are encouraged that the people that had a chance to see it in real life ... were generally blown away.  But in the end ... we can say all we want .... the product will do all the talking ... and the market is always right.

Case closed.

Christian, thank you for your prompt and detailed answer. It certainly helps me, for one to know where gothaforce is coming from.

At the end of the day I don't want to get involved in any handbag disputes, I just want nice models to make. I look forward to seeing what you produce.

Agreed ... that's the only thing that counts ... making nice models and having an enjoyable experience. We believe we got a gorgeous one up our sleeves ... which is very easy to build ... but as said the product has to do the talking. And all the rest is conversation.
