Gentleman, thank you all very kindly!
Looks great! I wonder if you could elaborate on the hiccups and fights along the way. I have this kit and was wondering what to except.
Main issues were mostly of my making, although the kit gave me issues as follows:
Tidying up the fuselage halves was difficult around the chin cowling area as the plastic is very thin in this area;
the lower wing is very weak due to the nature of how it was on the real thing - this aircraft attaches to fuselage via two bars which is a problem with a plastic model being fragile. I managed to break the wing on port side whilst handling. Repair entailed drilling out these bars and inserting some metal wire to give a stronger fit when re-attaching to fuselage;
upper wing attachment and alignment (in conjunction with cabane strut setup) was very fiddly and quite weak until I was able to rig to give it the necessary structural strength;
the kit provides a small section of clear plastic film where you have to cut out the marked out shape of the windscreens. This is okay but the bending around to fit in fron of the cockpit openings is not easy and then really difficult to get a good fit - mine ended up a bit of a mess in this location;
exhaust pipes wing mounting brackets need bending upwards to enable a good fit to upper wing
Don't let the above issues put you off - you may find you have no issues here; and in any case, this is basically a very good kit that really looks the part when built.
Regards
Dave
