Introducing Aero Rarities

Hey gang,

Some of you may know that my brother Eric and I have been tinkering with 3D printing over the past year or so.  Encouragement from a few fellow forumites inspired us to begin our own little scale-model production business with an initial focus on lesser-known and less-reproduced WW1-era aircraft and accessories.  I'm excited to announce that we are now officially open for business. 

Recognizing we're joining a niche market we don't anticipate great profits.  Rather, we've been having great fun monkeying around (lots of monkeying) over the past many months building our brand and planning our product line with the hope that we can spread some joy with others in our modeling community.  Our modest initial offerings include a range of British light aerial bombs in 1/32, 1/48 and 1/72 scale.  Some of these I've previously shared renderings of here.  These will soon be followed with many more items that we've already designed and tested.

I read your announcement a while back and I was very much looking forward to this.

Your website is spot on. It's fast, clear, informative and with great crisp pictures. And you have an amiable shopkeeper  . Same goes for the YouTube video.

Glad to see aftermarket goodies for non-German and Austro-Hungarian birds for a change!

You can expect an order for some scarfrings and 20 lb bombs for my current project soon.

[edited out: a sad description of a browser problem, which I hope no one read(!). I use Vivaldi, and on my first visit I couldn't use any link or even access other pages. I tested it in Firefox which had no problem. Anyway, I had my doubts about the 'glitch', but not before posting the aforesaid nonsense. Now, I've returned, and all of a sudden Vivaldi has no difficulty at all, which brings me great joy, because the Aero Rarities site is clearly a very welcome light to brighten up the WWI modelling scene!]

The project does look brilliant. Can't wait to see how it progresses! 
I haven't had time to check, but IIRC the Camels from Furious which flew on the Tondern Raid - yes, I have the WNW 2F.1 Camel waiting to build - carried an unusual heavier variety of bomb; I'm wondering if that's already one of the ones in your catalogue...

Anyway - sincere congratulations on your new enterprise

I haven't had time to check, but IIRC the Camels from Furious which flew on the Tondern Raid - yes, I have the WNW 2F.1 Camel waiting to build - carried an unusual heavier variety of bomb; I'm wondering if that's already one of the ones in your catalogue...

You are correct, and we do indeed have a model of the 50lb bombs used in the Tondern raid. In fact, it was a past discussion on this forum that inspired us to develop this particular rarity:  https://aerorarities.com/products/bomb-british-50lb-h-e-r-l-set-of-4-copy

Hey Nigel... that's actually a glitch.. we've not sold any but rather they're 'coming soon'.  Talking to our tech team to fix that!  But they are available for pre-order!

Yes indeed!  The Salmson is very close to being finished in 1/72, and we will be scaling it up to 1/48 and 1/32, though that will take a little more time so we can incorporate extra details.  We then would need to design the packaging.  We may try to simply the kit aspect of it... currently over 60 separate parts!
