Sopwith F1 Camel USAS (1/32, Wingnut Wings)
« on: September 15, 2024, 02:23:59 AM »
Welcome everyone,

I wanted to share with you some photos of my Sopwith F1 Camel, with 160hp Gnome 9N Monosoupape engine.
The construction took me a lot of work and It was a challenging build for me, especially the internal and external rigging.
I also had an accident while working when the model fell off the table and the supports broke.
But in the end I'm happy that I did the best I could and managed to repair it and finish the construction.

Best regards,
Paul

Lovely model, Paul, beautifully detailed. Great wood effect and subtle rigging. Unusual subject this side of the pond. Nice one.

This is inspiring.  Even the details on the panels.  And it's refreshing to see any plane in US markings.

Oh my Paul, that's pretty. Very nicely painted and well constructed. Your wood effects are especially nice. Hat's off to you!

Great job, Paul, that ply effect is particularly beautiful. What's your next project?

Nigel, Brad, Dutch, thank you, I really appreciate that you like it.
Dutch, now I`m working on Albatros D.III (OEF) in polish service, the aircraft from April 1920 (1/48 scale, Eduard kit).

Your build problems don't show in your result, Paul -

Looks brilliant from where I'm looking.   Love the marking/colour scheme.

Dave

I have to agree with all of the above. I too cannot see where the damage was done in the fall from the table - that is a remarkable recovery.

The US markings are new to me - and very interesting.

Stephen.

Very, very nice. The finest scheme from USAS boxing. Lovely rendition of the wood and linen surfaces. Congratulations.

I'll join the others here Paul, in congratulating you on a very fine model. Clean, great finish, and wonderfully done detailing throughout. The contrasting finish on the wood, fabric, and metal panels is particularly well done. Outstanding work!
Cheers,
Lance
