Remarkable detail for the underside of a plane not to mention the wires coming out the fuselage.
Alan.

Phenomenal result. I take my hat off to your audacity in attacking a smooth clean finish with the castor oil brush. I think you'll need to do similarly for the pilot's face though!

Thanks everyone, the feedback is much appreciated. I spent yesterday dirtying the upper surfaces a bit more and adding the final details. Just got the upper wing rigging to do, so she will be done by the end of this week.

Remarkable detail for the underside of a plane not to mention the wires coming out the fuselage.
Thanks Alan. Of course I now realise it won't be seen because once the top rigging is on, it's virtually impossible to turn the thing over.....

Ssssspank me !!  Looks great.
Come to my tent later. We'll see what we can do..... ;D

Given the amount of castor oil I think the pilot will be permanently in the toilet.......

Thanks Ben and Bob. Bob, you are very kind, it's thanks to the many talented cookies on here that I have learned new techniques and got ideas on how to improve my modelling.

And I have now finished this one. I actually found this to be quite a challenging build, the fit of the cowling, engine and cheek pieces was quite bad and needed a lot of fettling but I'm glad the deadline of the memorial build made me persevere and get this done. My dirty bottom has been joined by a dirty top:

Absolutely wonderful model, Nigel. Your finished piece is delightful to look at - so many aspects of great modelling, painting, weathering. The Aviattic decals really worked out well, too.
Cheers,
Gary

A real Bobby-Dazzler, Nigel - and so speedily built.
Lots of superb detail work as well as the dirty protest!

Fantastic end result! The oil seeping through the fabric looks very convincing.
