Nice and sharp - that PC10 overlap I always find very annoying (lots of work for something seemingly simple), but it does look good.

I get nervous looking at that Aldis sight on the stick. I’ve sent one gunsight flying with the airbrush that way: since then I thread them on a wire, make a loop of the wire and clamp it shut with a clothesspin.

Catching up (again!). I really like your Aldis sight and the idea of glueing the mounts to a stick so that you do not lose them. Good progress on this one - it is going to be another of your tiny masterpieces.

Roden SE5s are great models?.the multipart fuselage is actually quite good if you do some careful sanding and dry-fitting before the final assembly? i have done a couple of these and they look quite right when assembled. The inpection panels are a bit tricky to make look good in 1/72, though?.

I know I've been a little quiet here, but I didn't realise it had been 4 months!

Mostly due to a lack of mojo, but also there is now a lady in my life (totally unexpected, but what can one do? )

Anyway, I have just a small update to let you know I'm still here!

I tried applying the white stripe decals on the fuselage to see how they behaved and, not unexpectedly, they broke! So I designed a one piece mask for the fuselage sides including the stripe, letter A and background for the roundel, which is slightly off centre. The plan is to spray the decals with decal fix and apply the roundel over the white background.

They didn't turn out too badly!

The left side is a little rickety and neither A is quite as square as I would like it, but I can live with it.

The radiator shutters have also been painted, and the rocker covers added, but that's about it. Not much for 4 months I'm afraid, but some progress has also been made on the SS100 Jag.

Thanks for looking in!

Congrats, company is better company than bits of plastic, no matter how nice or accurately to scale they look =)

I have finally regained a little mojo so this is back!

Firstly, the engine parts were fitted. The kit has both sides the same, which is not correct. The tacho drive to the rear of the head pointing aft should only be on the right side, and the little protuberance on the upper side of the head, to the rear, should only be on the left. That was corrected, and the cut outs on the cowling altered to match. Paint has also been added up front for the shutters, and the mounts for the sight are on.

Then it was time to bite the bullet and fit the upper wing.
First though, the jig had to be set up.

I'd be lost without the Aeroclub jig! The centre section wires were added, the struts were pinned to the upper wing, and it was locked into the jig. Then I "only" had to thread the wires through the upper wing and glue the bottom ends of the struts in place. Only about 2 hours work!

The rear sight mount is only loose in its holes so that I can adjust the height to match the Lewis mount later.

That's it for now, I'll tackle the rest of the rigging and outer struts very soon!

Thanks for looking in!

Good to see this back on the bench (and in the jig). She's looking good, hopefully the mojo will allow you to get this done!

I agree, good to see this moving again.
