looking for info on russian ski
« on: February 25, 2024, 04:48:27 AM »
The other day I asked Copper State Models if they could do a (3d print) ski option for their Nieuport XXI in Russian service.
They said they would consider it, if they have some good references and/or images.
I know there are some decent images on the 'web to be found but I was wondering if any of the members/experts around here have some info or good images they could share, if that is ok to ask.

many thanks, Hidde van der Donk from Holland

According to the WWI Aero drawing index, there are several types of three view drawings of Russian skiis in the WWI Aero Journal issue 140 on pages 58 to 60.

Also Aviatik Vintage Aircraft No.1 Spad Vii C.1 p.100 small drawings of both the "skies" included in the Roden 617 kit.
The Note on the page says that Russian skis were of styles/sizes which varied by manufacturer, but that the two main types  were those in the Roden kit.
