Better luck next time? I built a Guillow's SE5a balsa kit (~1:13) when I was finishing up my dissertation as a sanity break from staring at the tiny text on my Mac Classic's screen in the lab. Yes, that was a long time ago. I did such a fine job on that kit that I left it uncovered. My future wife moved to Dallas and I stayed in her San Diego beach condo while it was for sale. One evening when I returned to an unexpectedly dark home, all the light timers, my SE5a, and a single drawer from my desk were missing! I suppose I should be flattered that the unknown realtor with the access code felt that my plane was worthy of theft, but did they really have to take the desk drawer to carry away their loot? It was a good thing my Mac (and thesis!) were at the lab, and that all my other portable possessions were junk. Perhaps the Model Airways SE5a kit with all of its exposed ribs and spars could be the ideal therapy to overcome the hole that theft left, at least in my heart, if not my desk.
