Hi from the East Midlands.
« on: February 08, 2013, 01:31:40 AM »
Hi from Burbage,Leicestershire.Have only recently found this site, and what a mine of info it is,great stuff indeed.Aviation, and some armour, has been of interest to me since an early age,and WW1 subjects for the past few years only.I belong to the East Midlands Model Club and have built up a large loft insulation stash and many shelf queens!Have bought some WNW kits recently but haven't the courage to start them.I'm a former member of HM Forces(army) and currently working as an HGV driver for my sins.

Dave.

Welcome Dave

Biplanes in general are nothing to be scared of, it's just the superior modeller that builds them.  ;)

G'day, Dave.

Welcome to the forum, mate.  Don't be shy about starting one of the kits, you'll really enjoy putting it together.  I do recommend choose one with minimal rigging first up, though, as that is what held me back until my first build.  And that build got me hooked on WWI aircraft, so it's not totally without risk.  :D

Cheers.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, and the advice.Have already picked up some very useful tips and advice off the posts here, great inspiration all round and some fantastic builds past and present.I started a project last year that has stumbled somewhat that I'm soooo longing to finish,so I'll be firing off some burning questions  on Gotha bombers,no,not the 32nd beauty alas.

Cheers............Dave.

Hey Dave ................ long time no hear, speak, see!

Nice to find a familiar face [so to speak] ... didn't know you were into this early stuff too. It's all very new to me as well - just a few Eduard kits so far but really fancy giving one of these 1/32's a go! Where did you get hold of your WnW's?? It seems they're like hens teeth, and bliddy expensive at that? Although I'm told that's all pretty relative.

Just in case you can't put a face to me ............... I really am Little Andi. Ex-member of East Mid's etc - left because you moved the club night and it clashed with my classes ... well perhaps not you personally!!
Anyhoo - probably see you on the 24th - East Mid's show at Hinckley???

Cheers bloke .....................
