Fokker E.I 5/15 FFA6b Kurt Wintgens (1/32, Wingnut Wings)
« on: November 17, 2023, 01:55:24 AM »
Here is the gallery of my newest build - one of the very first true fighters/scouts, flown in July 1915 by K Wintgens attached to FFA6b.

The WNW model was very easy to build and as accurate as possible. I have replaced the engine with the amazing Taurus Models resin, the propeller is carved from Kotebi veneers, turnbuckles are metal Gaspatch ones. And just today I realized I had bought the HGW textile seatbelts but forgot to use them. If anyone is interested in getting those - just let me know.

Enough of words, here are the photos.

Brilliant, Prez -

Nothing to criticise here and your usual high standard of workmanship is evident.

Regards

Dave

Another gorgeous build Prze, it looks perfect to me in every way. The build updates made me want an E.III and I still do.

You say you didn't use the HGW belts - what did you use?

As usual Prze, your finished model is superbly built and painted. Congratulations on a very inspirational piece of work. I'm sure those HGW seat belts work work nicely in your next Fokker E-type  ;)
Cheers,
Gary

Thank you, everyone  :)

You say you didn't use the HGW belts - what did you use?

I used the PE belts form the kit PE fret. Very decent ones to be honest.  ;)

... I'm sure those HGW seat belts work work nicely in your next Fokker E-type  ;)
Cheers,
Gary

The point is that I do not have any other Eindecker kit. And as I wrote in the build log - I am not keen on the type so this one will almost certainly be my only 32nd scale Eindecker model. So, my offer for the sale of the HGW seatbelts set stands  ;)

Magnificent work, Prze. I've been deeply invovled in researching the whole Eindecker tribe for the past few weeks, and will be starting this kit when (and if) I ever manage to finish the Amodel N.16. I'll be referring to this thread many times when I do, I’m sure.

All best,

Dutch

Lovely model, Prze, beautiful subtle staining on the canvas. Work of art.
I hadn't reaiised how different the E.I would look with it's stubby wings compared to later E models, but you really do need this 'un in any proper collection of Fokkers!
Nice
Sandy

Aha! You could've fooled me! I hope the HGW set finds a good home.

Perfect, remember that the left aileron comes from another plane and has a moved cross.
