Yes Mark, Congratulations, about time you were put up in the lights given your participation level and great contributions here! Have fun with that DXII, I'll be watching it carefully.
Cheers,
Lance :)

Hello Lance and Bo:  I was surprised and am happy to be the featured modeler.  It is always fun to put a face with the names.  That is a legitimate 29 hand I am proudly pointing to.  Once in a lifetime.

Bo:  Keep me apprised of the show in Cottage Grove.  It is only about an hour from where I live in New Richmond.  Do you know the name of it?

2 February is the "Hope it don't snow" show in Rochester MN.  Due west of Lacrosse off Interstate 90.  I will be heading to that one.  I won't be entering anything, but will be in attendance to scope out the models.

Best

Mark

Hey, Mark,

So there I was, visiting your Gotha thread a while ago and commiserating with you on your problems and wishing you the best of luck on your next build. And then I visit the Group Build page and see this build: done, finished, first rate and all this within a month or so. I'd better wish you the best of luck on your next build right now or you'll have that one done while I'm still warming up my computer!  ;D
Cheers!
Gary

Hello Gary:

Yes, Mr. Gotha is dead.  I have the remains for use on another Gotha, time TBD.  I got the Hannover for Christmas from my Bride, and thought it would be a good way to get back on the horse so to speak.

So, thanks for stopping and the congratulatory note on finishishng the Hannover and the Pfalz.

Best

Beautiful work, Mark.  That's one of the schemes I was considering for mine (I like the Bavarian schemes, for some reason), and it's good to see how well it can turn out.

Too bad about the Gotha, you'd put a lot of work into that.

Cheers.

Dal.

How I have missed this one? Lovely build all around. And the masked and painted losenge on the fuselage is remarkable. Congratulations on finishing this to such a great effect!

Mark,

Sorry I missed this - looks blooming fantastic to me!

I know what you mean about kits fighting you - I had that with the Roden Spad VII - unfortunately, the model won!

Dave

Thanks for the comments Prez, Dal and Dave:

I remember the SPAD VII debacle.  I told my wife and it was a matter days later the Gotha Crashed.  We both came back swinging though.
Dal:  You are right, I had started in November so I had a whole winter to work on it.  It was almost two months into it when it crashed.  That's when I hit the Hannover.  I am happy with it.

Prez:  The drawing and hand painting the lozenge was a bit tedious, but; I am happy with the result.  I am going to figure a way to do the lozenge one.  There is a way.  ;)

Best

Wow what an outstanding finish!  I'd love one of these but I'm sure I'd have to cheat & build the non-lozenged option!
