This is my first WW1 kit that I've completed, Revell's 1/72 Nieuport 28. Big thanks to all of the hints and tips posted on this site, it was a big help. The kit was missing the prop so I carved a new one.

Looks very good Ken, and looks like you made it through the daunting task of rigging!  You did a great job on painting the cowl.  Now that you've got your first WWI build under your belt, hopefully the fire is lit and you'll be starting on a second.  As mentioned, kits in 1/72 are fairly well represented so there's lots of options.

Great to have you here. You certainly showed fine potential - tackling such a crude kit was a bravery :) Nice paint finish, rigging on place - a very good start. I m looking forward to your next attempts - mayby try some finer Eduard or Roden kits.
And one more thing - models look much better photograhed against a monochromatic background, not on the cutting mat with modelling tools on it  ;)

Great start (I really must get around to the 28 someday . . . .) ::)

As mentioned Eduard do some lovely 72nd jobs (The 17/23 Nieuports are great and you'll find them a lot easier to put together than the old Revell job)

Very nice start!
The Nieuport 28 is one of the better Revell kits and still the only one in 1/72.
The missing prop was a blessing as it is the worst part of the kit and needs replacing anyway!

Great job! This would be a pretty creditable job for an old hand at WW1 modeling, let alone as a first attempt at a double-winger. And I'm a great fan of this airplane, and of Doug Campbell himself, I had the incredible good luck to spend the morning with him at his home in Cos Cob, Connecticut many years ago. Fascinating guy!

So it's a rule here that if your first Great War model comes out a success you have to build at least 175 more... what's next?  ;D

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I need to get a different photo area set aside for pictures, I know the mat with tools everywhere is not ideal.

I agree with rest of the crew. Great job on that old but reliable kit.  As others mentioned, it is one of Revell’s best but I wish for an update or other manufacturer production.  I second the rule that you must now build a second!

Great to see another 1/72 build!
