Nieuport 21 N.1615 of N.124 - Raoul Lufbery
« on: October 03, 2023, 01:09:49 PM »
It's been a long time since I've posted anything. This is the 1/48 scale Eduard ProfiPack kit number 8076 of the Nieuport 21.
I started this a few years ago and have finally found the time to complete it.

I used a Gaspatch Lewis Gun. The kit photo-etch Moreau gun mount was too flimsy so I scratch built my own.

I also added the extension to the hand grip on the Lewis Gun. Apparently Lufbery had it added to assist in pulling the gun down to change magazines.

This is an aircraft I might build again in 1/32nd scale if the decals ever become available for the Copper State kit.

Thanks for looking and Happy Modeling,

                                               Kevin

Lovely model, Kevin. Great feeling to get one finished isn't it? Beautifully done, especially how taut you've got the cellon effect on clear section. Nice one.

Thanks Sandy, too much work and not enough time to relax these days.

Thanks Dutch. I used Tamyia TS17 Gloss Aluminum from a spray can and a Humbrol Satin clear.

Lovely work on you N.16, Kevin.

Regards

Dave

Thanks Dave. It’s actually a Nieuport 21. Not many used by the French.

Thanks, good to know. I think I actually have a rattle-can of that in the garage... just picked up the CSM Late N.17 & won't be starting it for a while, but it's never too early to start thinking about finishes.

I’m really impressed by that scratchbuilt gun mount, too!

That's a beauty, Kevin!  Nice looking Nieuport and I've never seen Raoul's markings before.  Nice job.

Thanks Dan, I see you're asking me to risk serious injury from paper cuts.
Maybe someday in the future.
