1/72 MAC Roland D.VIa
« on: September 09, 2023, 09:09:58 AM »
MAC Roland D.VIa, 1/72 scale.  Aircraft 1202/18 was from the first production batch and as it was one of the first 20 constructed it had the steel tube, wood fared interplane struts (changing to the tapered on the end wood struts after).  I replaced the rather wide looking landing legs with wire and the wheels with Aeroclub.  Lozenge decals were a mix as at the time they were the very last of my supply... Eagle Strike for uppers and AG for lowers.

I made a bit of an upgrade by adding the metal shrouds for the aileron control lines on the fuselage and adding some decals to the propeller that I thought I could see in the photograph (from the Datafile).

Cracking job on one that's not seen very often.
Got one of these and looked at it a couple of times, but the molding always seemed a bit heavy so you've done a great job to get it looking as crisp as you have

Truly first class job in God's Own Scale. I could easily mistake this for a model in 1/32 scale.

Nice job!  Any major problems with this build?  Would like to build one myself someday.

Thank you so much for sharing, my goodness that's pretty. Once again you could tell me this was, say, a 1/48 kit and I'd have accepted it without question. Beautiful work Scott!

Absolutely superb finish and the crisp detail for the smallest of the three popular scales is impressive. Well done!
Cheers,
Lance
