Lohner T.I 1/33rd from Orlik
« on: August 28, 2023, 10:35:43 AM »
All Done!

I added some final details like that top wing container which I'm assuming is a rather small reserve tank so I put fuel line clinging to some struts going down into the fuselage.  I also added a bit of airbrush weathering since these things appear to have been well used.  My fuel reserve and oil tanks were made from 2-part epoxy and shaped.  Straps were from paper and the fuel tank holder was from thin cardboard.  Fuel lines were thin fuse wire.

I love it and think it looks a treat.  It's truly a lovely airplane and the designer of this model deserves lots of credit for attempting it in the first place and pulling off such a nice fitting kit. Any and all errors are mine!

Thanks for hanging around for the journey and all of the encouragment.  Now...what's next????

Cheers,
Dan

Bravo Dan, a true credit to both your skill and that of the designer. It's still hard to believe it's not plastic or resin. Gorgeous work!

Amazing work! Like Zac said, I found it hard to believe it's not resin/plastic. I had to Google Orlik to be sure (as I hadn't been following your build thread, which is also amazing). Well done, you should be very proud of this one.

I am always impressed by your paper buids Dan - they are so realistic and look more like plastic or resin than paper.

The T1 is a beautiful aeroplane and in A-H naval colours is even more attractive. I really want to scratch build one of these in God's Own Scale so your detailed photos and log will be a great help when the day comes.

Stephen.

My goodness Dan. That is just incredible!  Such a beautiful design and so remarkably built. Congratulations!  Also, congratulations on your 30th anniversary. That is a real accomplishment  Glad you two were able to celebrate with a well deserved vacation.  Deb and I just celebrated our 28th anniversary this August 12th.

As for what’s next… l seem to remember a mention of a Vickers Vimy? 😁

Having managed to assemble the resin kit of this bird I am in extra awe to see that someone managed to build it from paper. Chapeau bas!

Now I know why Steve Perry was so insistent I try paper modeling! Beautiful, beautiful work, Dan, on one of my favorite flying boats ever. Congrats on a job well done.

Was thinking much the same thing. It's astonishing how such a beautiful, complex model can be made out of paper!

It's lovely to see SP remembered too.
