WNW Fokker DVII (Fokker version)
« on: February 04, 2013, 05:45:50 AM »
All,

As promised, I've now moved this from the 'under construction' forum to completed models - I have now finished the display base to round it all off.

Please bear in mind this is my first attempt at a display for a model aircraft - I know it is not perfect!

Apologies for my lack of photography skills and hope I've not become a bore on this one!

Regards

Dave

Very nice finish Dave. Congratulations on a very impressive model. And BTW, the Base is excellent;  I use the same approach, plain green grass type material or yellow / brown depending on time frame illustrated. Simple but "sets off" the subject very well.
Cheers

There's nothing wrong with the base, Dave, it finishes it off nicely.

Cheers.

Hello Dave:

Great job on the DVII.  First one I have seen finished and you did a great job.  Great recovery from the loss of the SPAD VII, got back in the ring, brushed the cobwebs off and went and turned out a stellar model.  The base is nice too.  I have to do one.

Best

Beautiful work Dave and an inspiration to the rest of us. Nice base too! I use old wooden picture frames which can be bought at thrift shops very cheaply. Remove the glass, lay the frame flat and create a display base within the timber frame.

cheers

Gentleman,

Many thanks - very much appreciated.

Dave - What a brilliant idea for a base!   I bought this one (plain unfinished MDF wood board) in a model shop and I thought £8 a bit steep, really - I'm going to give your idea a go on my next build.

Dave
