Hobby Boss's Focke Wulf TA-152C
« on: August 17, 2023, 08:52:51 AM »
I had picked this up at a recent model show for $10 and now it has my attention, to the detraction of the 1 1/2 Strutter.  Well, it's not a bad thing as it keeps things fresh for both models.

Cockpit is mostly OOB.  (how did that happen?)

The kit came with PE seatbelts, but I subbed in some pre-painted Eduard ones.

Engine plug for the rear of the engine which can almost be seen through the wheel wells.

Great work, Ken, I always thought the 152 was one of the most lethal-looking fighters of WWII. And for ten bucks? Ya' gotta love that!

Really nice start Ken. Hopefully that box art doesn't do the kit justice.
Cheers,

Great start Ken, that looks like a lot of model for 10 dollars. No wonder you snapped it up. I always thought the Ta152 looked like a tiny aeroplane strapped to an enourmous engine yet somehow very elegant too. It looks like just the kind of restorative project needed to keep the mojo going.

Their Ta152's and 190D's are arguably the best 1/48 options. Of course a long Luftwaffe experten debate is on going...

I'm very glad to hear that Steve as for some time I've been tossing up whether to buy one of their 1/48 Dora kits, hence my interest in this thread.

Circled back around to this after taking a 2 week break from modeling.

Finished it up.  This is one of those kits with few parts but still looks good when completed.

Overall, a nice build, but I wished it was the long wingspan 'H' version.

That really came out great, Ken, love the paintwork. This has got to be one of my favorite WWII Luftwaffe fighters.

She looks great Ken, well done! I'm keen to get their D-13 so it's nice to know what I'm getting into.

Great build and model! Well done  ;D

I really like the look of the TA-152

Have the Zoukei-Mura 1/48 version for a build in a far future
