WNW Pfalz D.IIIa
« on: May 08, 2023, 01:34:55 PM »
Been a while since I've postede here - sorry. But thought I'd share my Pfalz D.IIIa build with you.
Eugene Siempelkamp's ride using Aviattic lozenge and Pheon decals. Rigging is Modelkasten with Gaspatch 1/38 turnbuckles with Modelmaster Spandau MGs along with Taurus goodies for the Mercedes D.IIIa engine.

This build is one of 3 that are featured in a Pfalz build guide which is in the process of being put together by KLP Publishing.

Wow - fantastic - what an amazing finish and weathering!

Your rigging with the turnbuckles looks great as well - any tips on how you use them? Your work looks a lot better than what I have been able to accomplish with them in the past so always looking to get tips :)

Gary - your Pfalz is one of the best D.IIIa's I've seen modelled anywhere. The detail, weathering and all other aspects of it are superb. The scheme is a very attractive one - toned down perfectly to look as realistic as it gets. Well done indeed.
Cheers,
Gary

This is my ideal weathering: she's been through a lot but isn't on the verge of falling apart. Gorgeously done!

A beautiful, stunning piece of work there. I just love that scheme, wish I could get some decals for that in 1/72nd.
