The first part of this thread came before I really became active here on the Forum, so I'm just catching up on it now. Extraordinary work, I've always loved the big Albatros types and seeing this one modelled is a real treat. Bravo!

Thanks!
Today i did the radiator. I firstly cut the basic box out of plasticard. Then i glued the grille-material to the sides. The material i used originates from an old, broken umbrella! It is made of cheap pv-plastic and the material has very good texture to portray a radiator grille of sorts. It is a bit overscale, but looks quite nice under the paint. I also sanded a half profile section to a plasticard strip to portray the upper and lower sections of the box type radiator.

Then i constructed the support structure of heat stretched sprue to the front of the cabane struts. I also added the shutter ( rolled up) mechanism of the same material.

The Radiator looks great in place! Clever usage of unrelated material!

Brilliant work... and I love the umbrella-sourced radiator! I've been tossing bits and pieces of random material into a box for years, firmly convinced that someday it could well turn out to be the perfect solution to some scratchbuilding problem.

Very nice!
Lately I saw a new brand of cottage cheese at introductory prices. The taste is quite okay, but the metal foil
is great for radiators! Only one brand name on it would be totally sufficient...

Hey, that’s a good tip. Looks very scalelike for the radiator. I have to alter my shopping list next time
. Thanks!
