Propeller for Roland C.II

I want to build a Roland C.II in 1/72 (Airfix)... First I'll have to find it, haven't had any luck (if you know where I can find it at a good price please tell me) I've seen finished kit pics, and, just like Airfix' Albatros D.Va, I don't like the propeller. I just scratchbuilt propeller for my D.Va, a Niendorf propeller, so I want to know which type of propellers were used by the Roland C.II, maybe I can just make resin copies of my D.V propeller and use it on the C.II. Based on the drawings in the relevant Datafiles, it would appear that the Roland swung a prop of somewhat smaller diameter than the D.Va.

Photos show a variety of prop types fitted. Axial props are prominent in several photos; I couldn't positively identify a Niendorf but several photos show props that resemble that style to me.

Just found some more info, it seems like most of them are Axial propellers so even if it has smaller diameter, it should have the same shape as Albatros D.V's. I can identify another propeller, but I can't recognise they badge on the propeller (Axial is easily identified as it has a big "A"). So if anyone knows about propeller manufacturer's badges, please let me know Thanks for your reply. Best regards.

What you have to remember is that it doesn't really matter what propeller you put on your Roland, so long as it was in production at the time, the reason being, that props were constantly and often being damaged and they were quickly replaced by any prop they had in the stores at the time, so over a very short space of time time the a/c could have 2 or 3 different props on it.  HTH

The manufacturers generally each had a signature shape. After a while you can start to recognize them by their profile alone.

From the pictures I've looked at, Axial and Garuda seem to be common on the C.II. As Pete says, the prop was almost a "maintenance item": easily damaged and frequently replaced. The main thing then is to get the correct diameter.
