Very nice work. Looking at the photo of the original aircraft, by any chance does the imp have a wing on his back?

Steve

::) How did I not see that !!
Thanks for spotting that Steve,

Agree re the wings on the imp, but not sure about the position of the imp, the photo shows it just to the right of the point of the > marking.

Also, does the devil head have a beard?

Yes correct.
I had to re-position the kit supplied decals as the scheme in the kit (D) has the fuselage markings located differently to the model scheme.
This meant the white chevrons are further forward on the fuselage.
I positioned the Imp figure where it is as to follow the position over the chevron, as shown in the photograph, would have put the Imp way too far forward.
A compromise but better than not including the Imp.
As for the bearded devil face, it could be but the photo is too indistinct to be sure.

That would explain it. As you say, better to compromise sometimes.

Look forward to seeing more of the build.

Hi all,
The wings and tail unit have got their lozenge decals.
‘Aviattic’ Halberstadt Cl.II 5 colour lozenge upper surfaces (ATT32196),
‘Aviattic’ Halberstadt Cl.II 5 colour lozenge lower surfaces (ATT32199),
‘Aviattic’ Halberstadt Cl.II 5 colour lozenge tail surfaces (ATT32205),
‘Aviattic’ Halberstadt Cl.II 5 colour fuselage stipple surfaces (ATT32209).
Applied on a white gloss base coat then coated with 'Alclad' Flat (ALC314).
Weathered with 'Flory Models' Dark Dirt fine clay wash.
Finally coated with 'Alclad' Light Sheen (ALC311).

Now onto pre-rigging before assembly,

Mike

Hi all,
Tweaked the devil cat and face by adding white.
Also added wing to the Imp figure,

Wow Mike, I've been AWOL for only a few weeks and you are well underway with another project. That's a very striking scheme, I like it!

Nice work. What do you mean you added the wing? It was always there wasn't it? ;)

Hi Steve,
When I first created the Imp figure decal I missed off the wing, as you pointed out.
So I hand painted the wing on afterwards,

Hi all,
Finished preparing the various parts of the model.
The ‘Grantenwerfer 16’ grenades rack is from another model kit, although I've added the back board so it can be attached to the side of the fuselage.
The flare ammunition rack is also from that kit, but I made the flare cartridges from painted 0.5 mm diameter styrene rod.
The tyres and inner wheel covers for this model are the new 3D printed resin wheels ('Continental' 76x100) from 'Proper Plane'.
The outer wheel covers will be the kit supplied parts.

Now it's onto pre-rigging before assembly,

Mike

Fantastic work as usual.
Always when I see these colors my doubts increase that LSD was used just from the 1970ies… and flying dwarfs and monsters…. Sorry, but some things are just too obvious!

Hi all,
The underside if the upper with has been pre-rigged with the flying, landing, incidence, drag and cabane bracing wires.
For rigidity the landing gear has been final rigged with its bracing wires.
Mono-filament of 0.08 and 0.12 mm diameter used with 0.4 and 0.5 mm diameter blackened Brass tube.
The turnbuckles on the landing gear are 'Gaspatch' 1:48th metal Type C for strength.

Now it's onto fitting the upper wing,

Mike

Hi all,
Upper wing now fitted including the two radiator coolant pipes.
Just needs a bit of weathering then it's final rigging,
