Nice to see this one back on the bench. The Polish markings look super.

I had forgotten that you had started this one: good to see that you are back at it. I had a look through the whole log to remind myself of progress - wow, just excellent in every way.

Absolutely lovely work, Prez. I've always wondered, what is the symbolism behind the Polish red/white national insignia?

Thank you everyone.

Dave V.

Not too complex. White-red was a Polish colour scheme for ages. And the checkboard itself was the invention of Stefan Stec, a Polish pilot who served in AH aviation in WW1. He used it as his personal insignia and after the war it was chosen by our military headquarters from among a handful of other red-white patterns. The order making it the official aviation emblem is dated on Dec 1st, 1918.

Fascinating, thanks! Loved your Lohner build as well. I really have to admire someone whose work is as fantastic as yours and who’s also a JRRT fan.

It was never destined for us, mortals. And the Elves managed to return there it is said. We should not mourn  ;)

Thanks, for the kind words.

More paint work is done, shading, wood on the struts. Now it will be time to paint all those blue-grey fittings...
