CLEARLY..I'm not a figure painter, MvR 1/28......
« on: December 27, 2022, 03:09:10 AM »
Paul at ModelCeller sent this pre-production figure along to go with my old Revell 1/28 tripe.

Looks better when the tripe is there to distract.

Clearly, I have some studying to do and room for improvement.

Thanks,
Allan Buttrick

Well done Allan - That's a cracking job  :)

(Easy to overdo things like the eyes which can give a toy like look to a figure) Your figure looks just the part standing next to his mount. All you need now is a suitable base  ;)

'Clearly I'm not a figure painter'
You shouldn't knock yourself down, I can't imagine myself doing better. From Paul 'All you need now is a suitable base' - and Moritz his dog!
Seriously, a good job.

a very good go at a figure - you haven't done one before? Check out Mike Butler's book Modelling and Painting World War I Allied figures.

I wish My first figure had turned out that well! Funny thing one would think a larger scale would be easier. That has not worked for Me as the details /shading just become More Critical. It looks like you are on your way to good results.
