Aviattic 1/32 "Blue Max" Triplane conversion
« on: December 24, 2022, 03:19:11 AM »
Since this isn't really a model of an aircraft from the Great War, I thought I'd post a few pics of my recently completed Triplane from the 1966 "Blue Max" film.

I used Aviattic's conversion set of resin parts and decals to convert the 1/32 Fokker Dr.1 Roden kit into one of two aircraft fabricated for the movie, this one representing the mount of Willi von Klugerman as used in the sequence of "2 against 5". Featured here was the smoke discharge cylinders on the undercarriage legs which were removed when they filmed the diving sequences under the viaduct.

The main resin conversion parts consisted of the Siemens Halske SH14 engine & prop, instrument panel, seat, combing in front of the cockpit and the engine cowling.
Cheers,
Gary

Absolutely love it

Outstanding :)

Now, if they'd only do this conversion in the smaller scales...

Fabulous.
I'm tempted to make one up myself (I keep saying that a 32nd tripe isn't that big really . . .) ;D

Ansolutely magnificent Gary, I love it! What a vision! Congratulations on a stunning build. I'm saving your photos for reference.

I had meant to mention What an excellent trio of Blue Max film aircraft these were - well done indeed!
