Avro 504K Paper Card Model in 1/33rd Scale by "Answer"

Well, here she is all done and dusted.  I scratch built the pitot tube and associated tubing, a line from the wing tank going down the rear left cabane and finally the little generator.  I also added the two filler caps behind the cowling and in front of the forward cockpit.  Oh!  And there is a little curved breather tube (I think) on top of the wing tank.  I also don't know what those little curved tubes are in front of the cockpit, but on they went!  Other than that, it's all "Out of the Mag".  I've built several Answer kits and I must say they have been nice so far. 

I don't think WNW was ever going to make this model so now I have a nice representative of an important type.

How is it, we are modeling probably the most difficult subject matter with the exception of wooden ship models, and you find a way to make even more difficult by folding paper in addition to everything else........ You're amazing, I've never seen better folded paper.

BTW, how did you do the engine cowling, is that paper as well?
I'm putting the olde Smer/Aurora 504 in 1/48 on the short list, doubt it will look as good as yours...

And Allan:  Yes it's paper.  But I sprayed it with 8K coats of primer and sanded it smooth.  I love my paper modeling, but I need smooth spinners, cowlings and wheel pants.  The true purist paper modelers would not do this.  And they make things look amazing without resorting to putty.  So I have a ways to go!

Congratulations Dan, she's a beauty! I love the extra wiring details and the screens. My own copy sits, staring at me from three feet away...I'm away this weekend but come next week...

The true purist paper modelers would not do this.  And they make things look amazing without resorting to putty.  So I have a ways to go!

Dan as others have written, you make it look easy when I am sure as hell that it is not. I would not be able to cut the shapes out accurately, never mind bend and glue them together to begin to look like an aeroplane.
