Avro 504B. Modified Airfix 1/72 kit

This aircraft was one of three planes involved with the very first strategic bombing raid. The target was the Zeppelin airship sheds at Friedrichshafen. The raid was successful but only this aircraft returned unharmed.
Note: I didn’t have an Avro decal for the cowling. I made one from two A decals lying sideways and abutting.
The kit needed extensive work with the front cowl to retrofit to an 504B. I placed a fuel tank in the observer’s seat.
Thanks for looking in!

Tim,
I still find it one of the more elegant designs and you did a wonderful job.
