Fokker D7 from papermodelers.com
« on: September 27, 2022, 03:31:36 PM »
Hey squadron,
Anyone build the Fokker DVII... "Nickchen" from papermodelers.com?  The kit seems real nice but there's no black cross on the rudder. I could import the PDF into GIMP and add it but I was hoping that there was someone out there with more talent and experience than I who have already done so.

Love the photos of everyone's builds!

Hello PWP!

I'm glad you mentioned this model since I had never seen it and didn't even know it was a free download! (TIM...take note!!)
Your model looks great over on Papermodelers.  Like I commented over there...maybe just simply mask and spray the cross.  At least it's a simple one without curves.

Looking forward to what you do...Dan

Dan,
Someone has added a black cross to the rudder and saved it as a PDF file. I have the copyright holder's blessing to pass it along to others but not make it publicly available out of respect for the person who created the original file and their copyright.

Perfect.  Thanks for the info.  I like the build so far, by the way.  Post some of it here too!  These guys and gals would love it.

I've taken a break to build a paper model of a Saturn V which was on display at the NASA Goddard for a day while they had a presentation on Apollo 17.  I reprinted the stabilizer for the D7 and will cut it out on Tuesday and try to finish the build in time to show mom and dad at Christmas.  Even though I am 59 they are tickled pink to see me busy with my hobby, music, and photography projects.

That's great, PetworthP!  I am 54 and my mom still calls me...wait for it...Bunny Fluff.  Don't tell anyone.
Have fun and have a lovely Christmas!
