WnW 1/32 Albatros D.Va Karl Hopf Jasta 76b

This was my quickest build yet of a WnW aircraft, finished in two months (while working on another project). It was the second WnW Albatros I've done this year - they are a delight to put together. Big thanks to "Jorgo" and Harry Hopper for helping with markings I didn't have - and also generous help from Bertl "Umlaufmotor" whose advice and references were invaluable.
My thread on the build is here -
https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=13330.0
I painted up a Model Cellar figure a while ago - not Karl Hopf - but Eduard Ritter von Schleich, a fellow Bavarian, which I used to display with the model for a couple of pictures.
Cheers,
Gary

Absolute beauty Albatros. I like very much the delicate wood rendition and that Bavarian white-blue checkboard. Top notch, Gary!

That looks beautiful. The crispness and finish is wonderful and I found myself looking at the pictures for a very long time. I'd love to get hold of a wingnut wings kit one day.

Gary, I take my hat off to you! A wonderfully finished model, subtle weathering and shading, and great detail. The figure is excellently painted as well. Truly a new masterpiece from you. I'm sure your cousin will be thrilled too!
Best regards

Spectacular piece of work Gary, the detail and finish are, as always, exquisite. We've had some very nice Builds of this Kit here on the forum over the years, this one is in a class of her own ............ Well done!

I love the subtle weathering,I would say that this aircraft had been in active service for a month or so.Superb wood and metal effects, the best ever!

What to add? This really is a work of modelling art: a superb finish especially the wood and the bands around the nose. I admire anyone who can put on those Bavarian chequer markings and keep them as well aligned as those. Brilliant.
