This is an absolutely Beautiful Build! I am Gobsmacked for sure!! The wood grain is stunning as are the details! I think I need to find another Albatros DV to try and do better than My previous efforts  8)

Thanks to everyone for the kind words on my build, and because of the help I've received from folks here I'm calling this one done. I've never been big on what I've referred to as "clown-like" colour schemes on aircraft, but this one appealed. Plus my wife chose it when we were flipping through an Osprey book on Albatros Aces. The fact that it had a German city of Würzburg crest on the side clinched it (I have a cousin who is a keen modeller from there). Thanks for looking and I'll get some pics posted soon on the finished models page.
Cheers,
Gary

WOW Gary, what a beauty. I would like to comment on what I particularly like but I can't because I like everything about it. Brilliant job. I do however like your line 'my wife chose it'. That would never happen in my house, there would be more chance of the Pope coming round and taking interest here than the wife, bless her.

The metal looks like metal, the wood looks like wood, the aircraft looks like a DVa,that happened to land in your front room!Marvelous!

Thanks for that Alan - I’m lucky that Marianne is a big supporter of my hobby, and enjoys being a “second set of eyes” when I’m in need of that differing point of view. She also encourages me to go that extra step...not cut corners....make less compromises to get the project finished as best I can.
Cheers,
Gary

Absolutely wonderful. I am glad you selected the ”clown”, it’s inspirational.
