Otto Doppeldecker 1/72 Phoenix vaccuform

Another vac kit I finished last year.  This represents a license built Pfalz machine which operated in early 1914.  My build log is here:

This is simply amazing, great work again Tim!

Tell me, how do you go about getting strong strut mounts for those thin vac-form wings? This has always been a curiosity for me. Do you build up the thickness of the wing in any way to allow you to drill some positive strut mounting points?

Cheers!

Another beauty! I like your choice of subjects. Definitely my taste, and in 'my' scale.
I have both the Fiat Savoia Pomilio F.5b (HR Model) and the Otto Doppledecker (Luedemann) in resin, unbuilt, but I think these early types may actually be better represented in vac, especially the flying surfaces.

Absolutely superb model, especially the black outlines to the wings. It is amazing how these early machines varied in details: the side radiators to the engine are really well done.
