1:72 Eduard Fokker DVII Jasta 40 Degelow
« on: July 11, 2022, 02:30:13 AM »
Hi friends,
the kit is the Profipack (Alb) from Eduard, completed with the Brassin Mercedes D.III. To see the engine at all, the side engine covers had to be removed with a mini saw.
Frame from stretched sprue.

Spandau MG mounted. I did not use the PE cooling jackets or the Gaspatch MG, as there will not be much to see afterwards.

Upper wing and decals fixed, also shading and weathering with dilueted oils. The blue rib tapes are not really covering, so I used an additional light blue marker (a gift from my friend Malaula, our forum member).

Cheers,
Jörg

Nice to see you back on the bench my friend!I wonder why Eduard supplies so many different cowls ,props etc but missed the open cowls especially on that Degelow DVII...

Degelow had a telescopic scope, but it is not included in the kit, so scratch is necessary. I used clear stretched sprue and 1mm brass tube. The whole thing was then attached with thin wire, I could not get better details from the available photo material.

Kind regards
Jörg

Nice!  I've been waiting for someone to do this crate, I do like your work on the side of the fuselage.

Love it so far and the addition of the telescopic sight is great.

I'll investigate my daughters Posca pens when she's out to see what might be useful ;)

Thank you Matz, Zac, Paul, WD and Prez for your kind comments, much appreciated !

Now to Degelow´s personal emblem of a white stag: the decal from Eduard is without significant details, mostly just white.  So contouring with a fine marker is necessary. Not exactly like the original, but for me it is sufficient.

Prop and wheels added

Soon she will be completed

Sorry that I haven't said much up to this point. Beautiful work, especially in a small scale!
