Hansa Brandenburg W19 1/72nd Scratchbuild
« on: June 12, 2022, 11:02:48 PM »
Hi Guys ! Here's the HB W19 I needed for my Seeflugstation Borkum dio..as far as I know this kite is not available as a kit,so I had to scratch it.
I altered a Toko W29 fuselage and floats. As both wings are the same in outline except for the cutout in the upper wing I build one from plastic sheet and replicated it in resin.
most complicated part of the build were the Float struts, made of squashed brass tube.

Lovin' that one  Malaula
(But then I am a sucker for a seaplane)

Is the rigging monofilament?

I do like a scratch build - and I really do like this one. A new type to me, but as it is a floatplane it is even more interesting. I might have to add one of these to my "to do" list.

Thank you so much guys!I feel like Scratchbuilding is much more satisfying than glueing together prefab kits..
no matter if perfect or not,the product is always unique ! For most of my other builds I had used my home made naval lozenge decals, this time the Aviattic offering.
Top notch ,but a tad to dark in appearence for that scale I think.
Cheers !

That is some great work Malaula, simply wonderful. Well built, a lovely finish. Magnificent.

Do you have any more progress photographs (apologies if I missed a build log somewhere)?

Cheers,

BC
