The Special Hobby kit is not without issues - wing mounting points, strut positions etc - but builds into a nice little representation of a Bebe with a little care. Certainly be worth SH re-issuing after a little reworking.
I bought an Aviation Militaire boxing but rather wanted to build A134 - Albert Ball's favoured mount. So out came some old pale blue roundels and some Hannants serial codes to effect the machine I wanted. A134 is known to have been painted in green and brown, but the exact shades unknown. I have opted to use MRP PC8 and PC10 for these with the linen tape edgings often seen on French machines. Speculation on my part but isn't so much else about WWI modelling?
After I took these pics, I refined the Lewis mounting and bracing a little but am too lazy to take it out of the case for more pictures, which given my lack f acuity with the camera phone would doubtless be worse quality anyway!
Albert himself is a CSM RFC figure with a different head. His mother might not recognise him but he'll do until I can find something better.
