1/72 Roden Albatros D.V

This project was sitting on my desk for so long that it was covered in a blanket of dust. So I finally finished it. Model depicts a factory finish of D.1177/17 before Richthofen painted it red. I got the idea from Wingnut Wings so I followed their instructions. The Eduard D.V is easier but the Roden kit looks great especially with the headrest.

Assembly was straight forward but I used leftover Albatros D.II cabane struts instead of the kit struts. Tamiya and Misterkit paints for the wings, oil for the fuselage. Rigging with .005 Nitinol wire.

Decals from Old Propeller and seatbelts form Eduard. Next on the bench is a Nieuport 23.

That is a Gorgeous Albatros! The Roden kit looks excellent when built to the standards you have achieved!

I agree with RAGIII.
I built about three Airfix Albatros kits, the Roden kit was not around then. One of my favourite aircraft.

That's a gorgeous build RVW, I initially thought it was a 1/48 or larger build! Bravo!

This is a really good example of a well built Roden kit -
This particular kit is not the easiest to put together so you have achieved an excellent result here

Beautiful build Rip! I may have to get one of these so I can build one with a headrest.
