Lukgraph 1:32nd Hansa-Brandenburg NW
« on: March 26, 2022, 08:48:51 PM »
Hi all,
Lukgraph have stated they hope to release the 1:32nd scale model around May/June.

Hansa-Brandenburg NW float plate.
Thirty-two aircraft of this type were supplied to the German Navy during 1915. They were used on reconnaissance patrol duties, radio was carried and some machines were fitted with racks to carry ten 5-kg. bombs. The machine was an improvement of the pre-war W design and bore unmistakable resemblance to Heinkel's three-bay Albatros seaplanes. Engine, 160 h.p. Mercedes D III. Span, 16.5 m. (54 ft. 1 3/4 in.). Length, 9.4 m. (30 ft. 10 1/8 in.). Area, 57.85 sq.m. (625 sq.ft.). Weights: Empty, 1,020 kg. (2,244 lb.). Loaded, 1.650 kg. (3,630 lb.). Speed, 90 km.hr. (56.25 m.p.h.). Duration, 4 hr. Armament, none.

Mike,
I suggest we use this thread just for news about the Hansa-Brandenburg and use your previous thread for the new BE.2 kits, so that we don't have unnecessary double-ups of information.

Coming closer and closer. I only need more time or a parallel life to keep the building pace with the releases... ;)

Hi all,
'Lukgraph' are now taking pre-orders for this model.
As usual the model will be supplied in standard or premium version (with extra decal sheets).

Got mine a couple of days ago. It is a great effort by Lukgraph. Their typical set, only that it is huge, much bigger than their previous models.
I plan to start it later this year.

Mine was shipped while I was out of the country.
I'm hoping my neighbor has it, but they're away right now.
I understand the model is large and very heavy!!

I trust you will get yours soon.
Yes, it is large - 50cm span. Larger than any WNW two-seater. And yes, it is heavy, resin is heavy, floats are solid blocks of it and the size of the wings adds to the total, too.

If it's that heavy, I hope if the struts are 3D printed that they will be strong enough to take the weight.
Or are they reinforced?

All the struts except for cabane ones are resin reinforced with wire.
